New Sevenfriday V-Series
by Guillaume V - 10/09/2015
Sevenfriday – a Swiss brand relatively new to the market – unveiled its new range a few days ago: the V-Series. Similar to the M and P series, this new collection features timepieces inspired by industrial design and intricate mecanical devices.
The dial best translates this inspiration, with its original approach to reading time reminiscent of industrial gauges. The hand located at the top is the minutes hand, but it does not quite provide the exact time. To get it, you need to add the figure displayed in the central disk to the number provided by the minutes hand. This may sound complicated but it requires just a bit of practice to be able to read the time at a glance. The same principle applies to the seconds hand. In addition, a day-night indicator is located 10 o’clock.
And the new dial is not the only new feature of this series. A new, 49.7mm cushion case, a fast strap changer system and a new NFC chip – at the back of the watch – will also be rolled out. This chip, which will be integrated into every Sevenfriday timepiece from now on, will allow users to register and authenticate their watches via a mobile app for NFC-compatible smartphones. In terms of movement, the 40-hour power reserve, Japanese Miyota movement will bring these new timepieces to life.
Available from october 2015, the Sevenfriday V-Series will be presented in a brand new packaging.
