Alpina unveils its first manufacture chronograph

If what you like in watchmaking is to know the most technical details on those jewels, you are going to be pleased with the new Alpina creation. Unlike other Houses, the Swiss brand is counting on the technical side of its product rather than a glamorous image. And Alpina should be proud...
Since it was founded in 1883, it is the very first time that the company is showcasing a chronograph, entirely developed and produced in-house. With its new AI-760 calibre with a modular mechanism, the Alpiner 4 Flyback Chronograph has a 38-hour power reserve.
The other specificity of the Flyback mechanism is the small number of components. The watch is made of 233 components in total and 96 of them are exclusively dedicated to the Flyback function. This choice might be a deal-breaker for some but the watchmaker is completely assuming the motto “more is less”.
In terms of design, the Alpina 4 Flyback Chronograph is still in-line with the former models with its contemporary and sporty look. It has three dials – available in silvery or black, that strenghtens its sporstwear aesthetics.
How to wear it? If you choose the alligator leather strap, you can wear it with a suit. If you go for the stainless steel, mix it with a plain polo and a chino for a casual look that will subtly show off the watch.
