A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Chronograph Boutique Edition
by Guillaume V - 28/09/2015
For the Watches & Wonders exhibition, A. Lange & Söhne decided to unveil a new timepiece: a fresh twist on their 1815 Chronograph with an exclusive case-and-dial combination.
Paying tribute to the 200th birthday of Ferdinand Adolph Lange – who transformed Saxony into a centre of precision watchmaking during the 19th century – the brand launched this (very) special edition of an already famous series of fine watches.
This new, white-gold model features blue numerals and a pulsometer scale.
In addition to deep-blue printed dial elements, the argenté-coloured face in solid silver is completed by a pulsometer scale used for heart-rate measurements (method: stopping the time while counting 30 heartbeats, then, on the pulsometer scale, the chronograph sweep-seconds hand provides the number of beats per minute).
In addition, the colour code of the dial is used for the rhodium-gold hours hands, and for the blue steel chronograph sweep-seconds, minute counter and subsidiary seconds hands.
The L951.5 chronograph calibre is similar to that of the other models of the series (controlled by a column wheel – equipped with a snail – convenient flyback function. 60-hour power reserve, large balance wheel with eccentric poising weights driven by a freely oscillating hairspring crafted in-house).
It is available only in the 15 A. Lange & Söhne boutiques worldwide.
